Useful Information and Safety.
 | Personal Protective Equipment. Clay Target shooting enjoys an excellent safety record, however, we must take steps to protect our hearing from the effects of gunfire noise and our eyes and head from the possible risk of injury caused by ricocheting shot or fragments of broken clay target. |
Hearing protection. This can take many forms from the simplest foam ear plugs costing a few pence right up to personally moulded digital electronic in-ear defenders costing many hundreds of pounds. We provide a choice of foam plugs or passive over ear defenders by leading manufacturers and in a range of sizes to suit clients of all ages.
Eye Protection. We provide safety glasses and can also provide safety over glasses for wearers of prescription spectacles. Not only do shooting glasses offer protection, with careful selection of lens colour, target recognition and light transmission levels can also be altered adding to your performance and comfort. Head Protection. Often overlooked. We recommend and can provide baseball caps to all clients and spectators for protection against falling clays and fragments.
Shooting Attire. Comfortable casual clothing which allows free movement is quite suitable for informal clay target shooting. Bulky or restrictive clothing is best avoided. A layering system is ideal allowing you to adapt to varying conditions and ensuring your comfort throughout your lesson. Please be aware lessons will usually continue regardless of the weather so bring your waterproofs and wellies. We provide skeet vests for our clients if required. A skeet vest will not only assist your gun mount and comfort, you will also look the part too.
Hire Guns. All lessons include gun hire. We provide a range of shotguns to suit clients of all ages, sizes and abilities. Clients providing their own gun will be assessed for gunfit as part of their off range lesson.
Cartridges. We can provide all cartridges for lessons and courses. We carefully select cartridges for minimal recoil and noise to ensure your comfort and enjoyment.
We reserve the right to cancel or terminate lessons at any time if a client fails to adhere to the COMPULSORY wearing of PPE or otherwise breaches safety procedures.
We cannot allow anyone to shoot who has consumed alcohol or drugs prior to the event.
We cannot allow anyone to shoot who is prohibited by law from holding a firearm.
